What is better than Motherhood? There is nothing more fulfilling; I can say that as I have the joy and balance of an interesting career, competitive tennis, and the support of family and friends. What are you passions? What brings you joy? How do you balance it all?

My Interview with Diana Journy is live on Spotify. For Season 1 of my podcast, I have interviewed 5/6 amazing women. I am so excited that Diana's interview dropped first. She is a dear friend and colleague. The theme of my podcast is balance and all six interviews highlight balance from different perspectives from coaching, psychology, social work, and public health. I hope you enjoy listening. I will be identifying my interview list for Season 2 this ...
Hope you took some time to rest, relax, recover, and recharge. September is recovery month! What are you doing to take care of yourself and set up new patterns of self-care? What are you doing for fun? We enjoyed a weekend at the coast, rain, bowling, and the Texas State Aquarium.
Friday Night Lights are back at Smithson Valley High School Ranger Stadium. This is the place to be on Friday nights in my community. This is where we celebrate our youth, enjoy really good football, and gather together. Where does your community gather and celebrate? Of course, football is even more fun when I see my son down on the Ranger field (#61). Enjoy your weekend, gathering, and connecting with your tribe. When I think about community and ...
September is here. It is officially Fall in my book. I can feel the change in the seasons as far as our family routine, the rain makes it feel like fall in terms of weather, and the time I spend in Albuquerque is definitely cooler. How are you transitioning into fall? Are you slipping into a new rhythm seamlessly or with difficulty? I have printable calendars for September, October, and November revolving around Ranger football, Manzano Day School, and my travel ...
Back to school is in full swing. We already had our tax free back to shopping weekend. Are you ready for back to school or are you already back in school. My daughter started first grade and I will have a freshman and senior in High School. Ranger football is in full force. I am so grateful for rain, cooler temperatures, fall weather, school supplies, and the changing of the seasons. Back to School Checklist: 1. Get organized 2. Figure out ...
If you do not make time for your health, then you will be forced to take time for your illness.... This sentiment has been on my mind and resonating with me this summer. While my health has forced me to slow down and pause even, I reflect on the past year and the past decade. 10 years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and my world came to a halt. Two months ago, I found out I had a recurrence and my world stopped again. This summer has been full of rest, ...
Nora loves glazed donuts, fireflies, and evening walks. She lives with a donkey, chickens, and many many sheep. The rams and ewes love fresh hay and make 1-2 pounds of fiber for the fiber arts. They look much rounder than they actually are (their wool grows out). I am inspired to learn to spin and knit from their wool. The Alpaca live just behind the sheep. They are a different breed, providing beautiful fiber as well. Pennsylvania farms remind me of ...
July Sabbatical: I always wished I could go on Holiday in the summer as Europeans do. They seem to have a better handle on work/life balance. They take holidays in the summer, siestas in the afternoon, make time for friends, and do not overvalue being busy and working all the time. I am writing from Pennsylvania where it is overcast and scheduled to rain today. The National news covers the drought in Texas every morning at 7:10. What is it about having a change of ...
