Friday Night Lights & The Huddle

Friday Night Lights are back at Smithson Valley High School Ranger Stadium.  This is the place to be on Friday nights in my community.  This is where we celebrate our youth, enjoy really good football, and gather together.  Where does your community gather and celebrate?  Of course, football is even more fun when I see my son down on the Ranger field (#61).  Enjoy your weekend, gathering, and connecting with your tribe. 

When I think about community and connections, I am reminded of the huddle in football.  This tradition of gathering together and making a plan of plays for a common purpose or goal applies to our culture inside the football stadium and outside the football stadium.  When I worked for the Department of the Air Force, we huddled every morning at 07:30 in the Randolph Clinic to go over the numbers for the day, safety, and our Commander provided a fun/uplifting quote or joke.  This started every day with a sense of camaraderie; united with a common purpose.  How to you huddle with your groups?
