Why wouldn’t this be the most important thing: connecting with your teenager. The most important thing you can do is spend time with your children. I am taking it a step further to being intentional with your conversations with your teen (whether at the dinner table, in the car, or after practice, before the big game … Teach them to be intentional in their conversations and set up a legacy of connection and real conversations and communication down the road when they fly the coop. I am grateful for the conversations I had with my college kid before he left home. Now, he facetimes me while he cooks dinner in his apartment in College Station. We used to talk in the car or get breakfast tacos or kolaches.
